State/ Area :  Himachal Pradesh
Altitude: 5090 mts / 16695 ft
Grade: Challenging
Season: June to mid Oct

  • Ladakh is a land of high passes, is enclosed by the Karakoram and the gorgeous Himalayas. The mighty river Indus is the lifeline for the meager population of Ladakh. Its scenic mountain ranges, sprawling grasslands, pious monasteries, brackish lakes, charming villages and opulent heritage makes it the most preferred holiday destination.
  • North of the Great Himalayan Treks, lies a rugged and fascinating land, the once independent kingdom of Zanskar. Sandwiched between the Indus Valley and the main crest of the Indian Himalaya, this remote and inaccessible setting well guarded by snowy mountain passes, has kept alive an archaic form of Tibetan Buddhism which flourishes in chain of far-flung monasteries, most of which occupy spectacular fortified locations, high on rocky ridges in isolated valleys.
  • We are not travel agents and we don't have any sort of ti-up with any travel agency. This information is based on personal experiences and data collected from internet.

  • Day 1: Arrive either Delhi or Chandigarh as per your convenience. (from Delhi you have to take a bus to Manali that will go through Chandigarh itself)
  • Day 2: Take bus or taxi to Manali.
  • Day 3: Morning bus or taxi from Manali to Darcha and overnight stay at Darcha.
  • Day 4: Darcha to Palemo - trek starts from here and you will be able to get spectacular views of few monasteries and nature. over night stay in the lap of nature under clear and open sky (you can use tents if you want. that's just a joke)
  • Day 5: Palemo to Zanskar Sumdo - one of the most adventures part of the trek is to cross the river by hanging pulley. you will definitely love it. It will take almost full day to reach Zanskar Sumdo and overnight stay at Zanskar
  • Day 6: Zanskar to Chumi Napo - at altitude of 4650 m form sea level. You might feel this morning treck a bit difficult as you will be climbing steep mountains now. till now most of the trek was in the valley.
  • Day 7: Chumpi Napo to Shingo La - Lakham - Prayer flags flapping in the wind mark the Shingo La pass, surrounded with fascinating views of the glaciers. An easy traverse of a glacier takes us to the valley and to the Lakham yak pastures Source: Source- (trekking in Sikkim)
  • Day 8: Lakham to Kurgaik -  you will trek along Kurgaik river
  • Day 9: Kurgaik to Tetha - Now you will be passing some fascinating destinations like, flower valleys and crazy mountains.
  • Day 10: Tetha to Purni: you can visit Phugtal (phuktal) Monastry on the way for a quick break and to get some inner peace
  • Day 11: Purni to Ichar: Keep trekking because some beautiful places and gorgeous mountains are calling you up and up.
  • Day 12: Ichar to Mune: Enjoy the views and take back home some good memories
  • Day 13: Mune to Padum: you can visit Bardan Monastery and pray god for the better future of human race.
  • Day 14: Padum to Kargil: kargil yes its Kargil, you heard it right.  from Padum you have to drive to Kargil. Either arrange transport by your own or contact locals to get to your destinations or if you want you can opt for hitch hiking as well. totally dependent on you.
  • Day 15: Kargil to Leh: Again your own decision. choose better options.
  • Day 16: Leh to Delhi, Chandigarh or where ever you feel like going
